Through Taiwan Strait two US Navy warships transit

  On Sunday, Two United States warships sailed through the Taiwan Strait, the American navy said, the first such transit since China staged unprecedented military drills around the island. The US 7th Fleet in Japan said in a statement that on Sunday the guided-missile cruisers USS Antietam and USS Chancellorsville were making the voyage “through waters where high seas freedoms of navigation and overflight apply in accordance with international law”.  The transit “demonstrates the United States’ commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific, the US Navy said in its statement.” In the Taiwan Strait after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taipei tensions soared to their highest level in years this month. To defend itself US visits reinforce Taiwan’s determination

  To defend itself, recent visits by guests from the United States have reinforced Taiwan’s determination. On Friday, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen said to visit the island in defiance of Beijing she met the latest US lawmaker. “Us society has visited Taiwan with many public figures from a broad spectrum in recent years. She said on Friday, these warm acts of kindness and firm demonstrations of support have reinforced Taiwan’s determination to defend itself”, in remarks carried live on Tsai’s social media pages. As its own territory China, which claims Taiwan against the strong objections of the democratically elected government in Taipei, after US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited in early August launched military drills near the island.  She was followed about a week later by five other lawmakers and late on Thursday, Senator Marsha Blackburn touched down in Taipei. With Taiwan and China US announces trade talks

  In a sign of support for the island democracy that China claims as its own territory on Thursday the U.S. government announced trade talks with Taiwan, by prompting a warning with Beijing that it would take immediate action if necessary to “safeguard its sovereignty.”  Additionally, to intimidate Taiwan the announcement comes after Beijing fired missiles into the sea. To visit the island in 25 years after this month Nancy Pelosi the U.S. House Speaker became the highest-ranking US official.   Chinese President Xi Jinping’s government criticized the planned talks about the violation of its stance that Taiwan has no right to foreign relations.
